Zinc Restaurant provides a wonderful venue for stylish and romantic wedding receptions. Located at the beach-end of the main street of Port Douglas, Zinc is close to a large number of the holiday accommodation apartments and houses in town, is right by famous Four Mile Beach and St Mary's church is around 500 metres away. Experienced In-House Wedding Reception Coordinator

Our in-house wedding coordinator, Danielle, has been involved in the wedding industry in Port Douglas for more than 15 years as the owner/operator of Port Douglas Weddings (which she sold recently to focus on our receptions).

Quite simply, Danielle knows weddings and understands your needs!

Dedicated Reception Areas

Unlike most reception venues in Port Douglas, Zinc has dedicated areas for you and your friends and relatives, so that your wedding reception can be held without interruption from other restaurant patrons.  

Zinc restaurant has two areas available depending on the size of your group: 

• A function room - suitable for up to 45 guests depending on table configurations.  This room is air-conditioned.
• An outdoor area, with a retractable awning, just outside the function room - suitable for up to 45 guests. This is not airconditioned however Zinc enjoys cool sea breazes during the months of April to November.
• Wedding receptions with more than 45 guests can utilise both the inside and outside areas. We have held receptions for around 100 guests using both areas.

Because Zinc has a dedicated wedding reception area, we do not have to charge you a large "sole-use" fee. There is a minimum spend charge but you will find that this is well below typical sole use fees and unless you have a very small reception, you will exceed the minimum spend anyway.

Food, Beverage and Service

At Zinc, we are committed to providing you and your guests with outstanding food, an amazing selection of cocktails, beverages and wines, and attentive, professional service.

Zinc Lounge

Zinc has a lounge area that remains open until late, perfect for that drink after your reception, if needed. A lounge menu is also available until late.

Live Web Camera - Free

We also offer our high-quality web camera at no extra cost when you hold your reception at Zinc. This means that friends and relatives not able to be in Port Douglas can view your reception via the internet....live.

Simply let Danielle know that you would like this inclusion and we will have the camera running during your reception.

at Zinc on the 9th April 2009.  We had such a great night & everything went so
well & stress free!

You did a great job setting up the function room, it looked absolutely
lovely.  Even though we are in Melbourne & you in Port Douglas, you made it
so easy to arrange everything & provided us with all the information &
advice needed.  We thank you for meeting with us before the big day to go
over everything & show us around Zinc.

Thank you to the wonderful & talented chefs you have working there, the meal
was absolutely lovely & everyone commented on how beautiful it was.  I even
had one guest comment that it was the best meal he ever had!  The meal
selections all looked great it was so hard trying to choose just a couple of
each to have on the menu.

Also a big Thank you to the waiters & waitresses, they did a great job on
the night.  A lot of the guests commented to me that they were never waiting
for anything, the waitresses were always on top of it & drinks were always
full!!!  A special mention & thank you to Shell, she did a wonderful job &
even when Nigel & I came back to have another meal at Zinc, she remembered
us & still made us feel very welcome.

If you could also thank the DJ for his time & service, he did a great job!

We highly recommend having a wedding reception at Zinc & we wouldn't change
a thing, everything was absolutely perfect & everyone that works there is
very friendly & goes out of their way to help you (and the cocktails are to
die for!!!!).

Just a huge big thank you to you and the staff – we had an exceptional day/evening that will forever be remembered. The tables looked great and the cupcakes were yummy. Everyone commented how great the food was – I loved every bit of it all! Port Douglas is a truly magical place and was the perfect setting for our wedding. All your help and organising meant I didn’t have to think about anything – from start to finish it was a very painless experience.

With apologies for taking so long to email you, I'm writing thank you cards but they will be another few weeks away but I wanted to email you to say a very big thank you for all your help in making our reception so incredibly wonderful. The service was great, all the waiting staff were very attentive and looked after everybody extremely well. We got so many comments on the food, it was amazing and all courses were exceptional, I knew they would be after I came up in march and sampled the menu! I think you will have a few return visitors! The table settings looked lovely also. Afterwards it was only a short stroll home to the Cayman Villas.

Cameron and I feel extremely lucky in that it isn't easy organising your wedding from so far away and I did choose everything myself but we couldn't have asked for a better wedding, all the locals from Port that helped us were really helpful, friendly and a pleasure to deal with.
